Our home is meant to be our safe space - A place where we can leave all our problems and worries from work and life out the door. A place where we can relax and enjoy life the way it was meant to be.
We recommend creating some room for an area to meditate, relax, and de-stress. Doesn't have to be a full room. but just a place to escape the everyday.
Here are a few tips for creating a safe space in your home for yoga and meditation:
- Find a quiet space. This could be a spare bedroom, a corner of your living room, or even a closet. The important thing is that the space is free from distractions and clutter.
- Make it comfortable. Add some cozy blankets, pillows, and a yoga mat. You may also want to consider adding some candles or incense to create a relaxing atmosphere. Consider using essential oils like lavender, chamomile, or sandalwood, which are known for their calming properties.
- Personalize your space. Add some things that make you feel happy and relaxed, such as photos of loved ones, inspiring quotes, or nature scenes. You can also add plants, which can help to purify the air and create a more calming atmosphere.
- Keep it clean and organized. A cluttered space can be distracting and stressful. Make sure to clean and organize your space regularly.
- Minimize distractions. Turn off your phone and computer, and let others in your household know that you'll be needing some quiet time.
- Control the light. Dim the lights or use candles to create a soft, inviting atmosphere.
- Adjust the temperature. Make sure the temperature in your space is comfortable for you.
- Invest in some props. A yoga mat, meditation cushion, and bolsters can all help to make your practice more comfortable.
- Use calming colors. Paint your walls a calming color, such as blue, green, or lavender. You can also use these colors in your decor.
- Add some nature sounds. Play some nature sounds, such as ocean waves, birds singing, or rain falling, to create a relaxing atmosphere.
Once you have created your space, it's time to start practicing yoga and meditation. Since our goal is to help you destress in life , here are a few yoga poses:
- Child's Pose (Balasana): This pose is a great way to relax and relieve stress. To come into Child's Pose, kneel on the floor with your toes together and your knees hip-width apart. Sit back on your heels and rest your forehead on the floor.
- Downward-Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana): This pose is a great way to stretch your entire body and improve circulation. To come into Downward-Facing Dog, start on your hands and knees with your hands shoulder-width apart and your knees hip-width apart. Push your hips back and up towards the ceiling, and straighten your legs as much as possible.
- Corpse Pose (Savasana): This pose is a great way to relax and de-stress. To come into Corpse Pose, lie flat on your back with your arms at your sides and your palms facing up. Close your eyes and focus on your breath.
These are just a few yoga poses that can help relieve stress. There are many other poses that you can try. Be sure to listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard.
